Topic Introduction:
A patent is a type of intellectual property right that protects innovative technological achievements and grants inventors exclusive rights for a specified period of time. Patents must meet the three key requirements of novelty, advancement, and industrial applicability. Through the patent system, innovators can prevent unauthorized use of their technology while promoting technological disclosure and knowledge dissemination. Effective patent protection helps enhance competitiveness and industrial development, and supports innovation-driven economic growth.
